JLR Medical Group believes in giving back and is committed to medical service and volunteerism in our community and around the globe. Our physicians and employees have contributed their time, talents and financial resources to a number of organizations over the years:
Since 2007 alone, JLR has provided over $1,000,000 in direct financial support to a number of Florida Hospital projects and events throughout the community, including funding to the Adventist University of Health Sciences for creation of their Nurse Anesthesia program.
SHARES surgical teams, comprised of skilled plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, technicians and other volunteers, travel to strategically selected cities in Latin America to provide reconstructive surgery to children suffering from physical and emotional distress caused by facial deformities. SHARES has helped alleviate the suffering for more than 2,400 children with cleft lips and/or palates.
Provides free primary health care for the uninsured in Central Florida. JLR physicians provide anesthesiology support for outpatient plastic surgery patients.
Matthew Stoner, MD, leads JLR’s involvement, coordinating contributions from JLR and staffing a monthly meal presentation.
JLR’s physicians and CRNAs have served to help heal children’s smiles and transform lives across the globe.
Teams of JLR physicians and CRNAs have served this Minnesota-based, non-profit volunteer organization whose focus is to serve the underprivileged of the world by providing specialized medical and surgical services in a safe, compassionate and culturally sensitive manner and to promote in-country self-sufficiency through professional training and support.
Our physicians and CRNAs have participated in medical missions through this Minnesota-based non-profit, humanitarian organization that provides life-altering, reconstructive surgeries and related healthcare services to impoverished children and young adults in developing countries.

Christopher Dobson, MD
Director at Florida Hospital Foundation’s Project SHARES, Past President
Since 2001, JLR board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Dobson has served as Director of the Florida Hospital Foundation’s Project SHARES, and since 2010, he has also served as the program’s Vice Chair and Medical Director. SHARES surgical teams, comprised of plastic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, technicians and other volunteers, travel to strategically selected cities in Latin America to provide reconstructive surgery to children suffering from physical and emotional distress caused by facial deformities, including cleft lips/palates. For over twenty years, Dr. Dobson has also served on missions with organizations such as Operation Smile International, Children's Surgery International and Smile Network International. He has also served as the President of JLR and the Chairman of the Department of Anesthesiology for two terms. His training in both anesthesiology, and a fellowship in obstetric anesthesiology, was at Bowman Gray School of Medicine in Winston-Salem North Carolina. He completed his internship at and earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
