The JLR Medical Group
Scope of Practice: JLR is an
Orlando based practice with approximately 70 anesthesiologists and 45 CRNAs that provide
anesthesia services to Florida Hospital, one of the nation's largest and most respected
hospital systems. JLR's clinical practice encompasses a wide variety of cases including
cardiac, vascular, obstetrical, neurosurgical and pediatric anesthesia services, as well
as critical care management and chronic pain medicine. JLR performs
approximately 100,000 cases per year.
JLR has a well-established multidisciplinary chronic pain management
program with eight fellowship trained pain physicians in seven pain clinics (pain
physician's clinical responsibilities are divided between the OR and the Pain Center).
Additionally, the practice serves numerous
outpatient surgery locations.

JLR History: JLR was incorporated on
December 29, 1988 with 24 Anesthesiologists in the medical group. At its inception, it
also employed 15 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs).
A respected Practice: JLR
Physician backgrounds cover a highly esteemed curriculum. Residencies include Bowman Gray,
Emory, Massachusetts General Hospital, Johns Hopkins, Wake Forest and University of
Florida Programs.
JLR is well respected in the medical community because of its attention
to Total Quality Management, as well as its global delivery of care.
Additionally, several JLR physicians contribute to the anesthesia
community through service on various boards and committees with the Florida Society of
Anesthesiologists (FSA) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA).

A Stable Practice: Ninety-three percent (93%) of
JLR's clinical personnel hired over the last three (3) years remain with the practice.

JLR Medical Group is a C corporation governed by a
physician Board of Directors.
There are approximately 50 shareholders, seven of which are Directors on the
Board.
JLR taps the talent of its members through the use of numerous
Executive Committees (i.e., Quality Assurance, Compensation Committee, etc.).
Partnership Opportunities:
JLR
recognizes the importance of providing partnership opportunities to its physician
employees. Approximately 50 physicians are shareholders of JLR and most
other physicians are on a shareholder track.
Physician employees on partnership tracks are mentored by a senior partner, and are given
a vote for partnership during their second year of employment. An affirmative vote ensures
partnership in the candidate's third year with the practice.

Administration and Professional Data Management (PDM):
JLR Medical Group is well supported by an in-house team of
administrative and billing personnel. In 1992, JLR started its own billing company, PDM
and began to assemble an impressive array of support personnel. Currently, there are 50
administrative and billing personnel, of which several hold graduate degrees (i.e., JD,
MBA, and MA) and advanced certifications (CPA, Certified Coders, etc.).
PDM uses
the finest software for anesthesia specific medical billing. With its integration with
electronic claims, collections, coding and insurance billing, the process is efficient,
fast and reliable. A Quality Assurance plan is also in effect with the billing company.
A Clinical Services and a Business Development Department provide
additional support to the Practice. A Corporate Compliance initiative is also in place.
