JLR Medical Group works diligently with HMOs to create contractual relationships.  Our efforts are not always successful, therefore we are not contracted with every HMO.  If JLR Medical Group is not contracted with an HMO, JLR will not accept payment of less than 100% of our charge as payment in full for our services.  If the HMO does not contract with JLR and pays less than 100% of our charges, then the HMO has not accepted liability under Florida Statute 641.3154, and we can and will bill the patient for the balance of our charge.  Regardless of whether JLR cashes a check from the HMO which is labeled in any manner as a payment in full check, we do not recognize the HMO as accepting liability under this Florida Statute and are not bound by payment in full language and will not accept less than payment of 100% of our charge for this undisputed claim.
